The Ara Gallery

The Ara Gallery sees art as a force; it influences and enriches our lives, stimulates our minds and moods, and is a unique and personal form of expression.

Putting a Spotlight on Emerging Artists from the Arab World

The Ara Gallery is purely focused on giving outstanding aspiring Arab artists a platform where their talents will be showcased to the region and the world so that they will have the opportunity to make a name for themselves in the ever-growing Middle Eastern art market. The opportunities afforded to these rising artists will provide motivation and inspiration to potential artists. This will be achieved through a variety of means:

 Art-related dialogue will be encouraged in the form of critiques, discussions and workshops

 Monthly exhibition and launch functions will place the spotlight on the exhibiting artists where they can make connections not just with fellow artists and art lovers, but also potential patrons and other important members of the regional art world

 Art Fairs – both regional and international – are an important stage that The Ara Gallery means to utilize to bring our artists to a wider audience

 Values are a large part of what makes The Ara Gallery what it is; we will provide a solid venue where artists, clients and visitors can all come to expect high levels of quality and professionalism, while instilling these same values in those breaking into the art market.

The Ara Gallery whole-heartedly believes all this will help to create a more well- rounded group of great future Arab artists.

An Emphasis on Relationships

Founding professional and genuine relationships with all of our artists, clients and visitors is important to us because we feel it is necessary to have a firm understanding of what regional artists and art lovers want out of a respected gallery. Open communication will be encouraged via:

 Working together with local universities, art galleries and other businesses is something which interests The Ara Gallery as we believe having an open and helpful relationship with others in the art community is advantageous to everyone – artists and businesses alike

 Social media networks provide an easily accessible and popular means to engage and get others involved in being a part of our family; anyone who is interested will be kept constantly in-the-loop about events and exhibitions and opportunities at the gallery. Additionally, those interested can use these platforms as a way to easily reach the gallery and let us know what they think or what they would like to see, so we may better serve them.

 Professionalism can be expected by anyone finding themselves involved with us; artists can expect a solid location wherein they can be taken seriously as a rising talent and clients can expect quality, prompt and knowledgeable service

An Artistic Hotspot in Dubai

The Ara Gallery will provide an engaging environment to its artists and visitors; the gallery space and location are both dynamic and innovative. Visitors will find a:

- welcoming, well-lit gallery space

- growing library of art books within the gallery to inspire

- coffee area within the gallery where they can engage in art-related discussion

Dynamic, Nurturing and Humanitarian Ideals

In general, while being a shelter for artists and art lovers, The Ara Gallery strives to work at being a compelling, constructive and progressive environment and hopes to inspire even those who may be indifferent to the arts. Aspirations will be cultivated and realized, hard work and talent will be appreciated, and growth will be achieved through constructive dialogue. Additionally, The Ara Gallery feels a responsibility to reach out and help others, not just artists, and will do its part by incorporating charity and humanitarianism into its strategy.Founder Profile

Moza Mohamed Al Abbar was born in Singapore and spent the first 6 years of her childhood there before her family moved back to Dubai in 1991. Despite her passions for philosophy, art and humanitarianism, Moza chose to study business in university and obtained a double major in Economics and Finance. Upon graduation, she followed a path down a less traditional route and worked for an NGO which supports Arab youth through the pillars of entrepreneurship and unemployment, but in her heart knew that something else was waiting for her. True to her dreams, Moza began to fill her free time by planning and developing a concept for a private venture that would benefit the community and give her a sense of independence and ability as it became a reality. Thus, The Ara Gallery’s concept was born.

Moza is deeply family oriented and a dreamer by nature, finding expressive outlets through reading, arts and volunteer work. In the future, she plans to expand The Ara Gallery into a holistic concept that combines art, culture and experience.
